Crab Soccer (Ages 10-14)
Set Up:
-Mark off a small field area and use floor hockey or U8 nets
-Split players into two teams and demonstrate how to do a crab walk
-Players are to attempt to play a regular soccer game without leaving the crab walk position
Key Coaching Points:
-Having players move around in the crab position slows the game down. Players need to focus on seeing what plays are available to them and using their decision making
-Actual skill from the crab position is secondary to stressing the ability to see the game at a slower pace
